Sea Lion 07 SUV to be unveiled by BYD at Guangzhou Auto Show
BYD prepares to unveil its latest addition to its electric vehicle lineup, the Sea Lion 07, at the Guangzhou Auto Show in China on November 17. This upcoming model is expected to join BYD’s ‘Ocean’ series, which already includes vehicles like the Seal, Dolphin, and Seagull.
Initial sketches hint that the Sea Lion 07 will draw design inspiration from BYD’s Ocean-X sedan concept. Led by former Audi and Lamborghini designer Wolfgang Egger, this compact SUV differs from previous models like the Seal SUV. Its front features sharp LED headlights and daytime running lights, adding to its more assertive appearance with angular air intakes.
The side sketch of the Sea Lion 07 showcases a coupe SUV silhouette, characterized by bold curves and creases along the doors. Though reminiscent of the Cupra Formentor, this BYD model positions its cabin further forward. At the rear, the design incorporates aggressive elements with sharp edges and angular LED taillights, similar to the Atto 3.
Detailed technical specifications remain undisclosed, leaving enthusiasts eager to discover its capabilities. However, initial estimates propose a starting price around 190,000 yuan (RM122k). Closer to home, the BYD Dolphin from the ‘Ocean’ lineup is available from RM99,900.
