Renew your driver’s licence without having to book an appointment!

Currently, the Department of Land Transport (DLT) is offering a driver’s licence renewal service without prior reservation (walk-in)  at all transport offices nationwide.

For those who are busy and unable to pick a date to book an appointment to renew their driver’s licence in advance, DLT is now offering a service that one could complete without prior reservation (walk-in), which allows one to go to the transport office at their own convenience. 

For anyone who wants to renew their driver’s and/or operator’s licence without making an appointment in advance, they must complete the online theory training through the e-learning system and submit a medical certificate to the officer at any of the transportation offices located nationwide. 

However, if you do not want to do the theory training online and prefer to do it at the transportation office instead, you can also do so. Simply bring along your ID card, your old driver’s licence, and a medical certificate to the officer at any transportation office nationwide.  

Other services available for walk-ins without making an appointment in advance:

• Change a 2-year temporary private driver’s licence to a 5-year one, if the original licence expires within 1 year
• Apply for an international driving licence
• Apply for a replacement licence for a damaged, lost, or modified one
• Request a driver’s licence in Thai or English
• Apply for or renew a public driver’s licence

If you would like to book an appointment in advance, you can do so through the DLT Smart Queue app, where the transport office would prioritise who had booked an appointment in advance. If you do not have an appointment, you would then have to wait for your turn patiently. It is best to book an appointment in advance.
