Finally, the OMODA C5 EV, the latest electric vehicle from Chery Automobile, is gearing up for its debut in Thailand on August 6th. It is anticipated that the price will be around 1 million baht, which is a very attractive price point in the current Thai electric vehicle market.

The OMODA C5 EV is a 100% electric SUV, equipped with a motor that delivers a maximum power of 201 horsepower (HP) or 150 kilowatts, and a maximum torque of 340 Newton-meters. It can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in just 7.2 seconds and has a top speed of 172 km/h.

Design and Performance

The Lithium Iron Phosphate battery installed in the OMODA C5 EV offers a maximum driving range of 505 km per full charge (according to NEDC standards) and supports fast charging from 30-80% in just 28 minutes. The battery is protected by impact-resistant materials and has an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance, enhancing safety and durability.

This model features an exterior length of 4,424 mm, a width of 1,830 mm, a height of 1,588 mm, and a wheelbase of 2,630 mm. The front suspension is a MacPherson strut design, while the rear suspension is a multi-link setup, complemented by 18-inch wheels with 215/55 R18 tires as standard.

Technology and Key Features

According to the specifications of the Indonesian version, the OMODA E5 EV comes with standard features such as automatic LED headlights with height adjustment, LED daytime running lights, sequential turn signals, cornering lights, and an emergency stop signal. Additionally, it includes a sunroof and an electrically operated tailgate.

Inside the cabin, the front seats are electrically adjustable (6-way for the driver and 4-way for the passenger), and there is a 24.6-inch curved touchscreen that supports Wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The sound system includes 8 Sony speakers, and the vehicle is equipped with a 2-zone air conditioning system with PM2.5 filtration, a 50W wireless phone charger, and a 540-degree HD panoramic camera system.

The OMODA C5 EV also features advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) powered by the Qualcomm 8155 chip, including adaptive cruise control (ACC), automatic emergency braking (AEB), forward collision warning (FCW), rear collision warning (RCW), lane keeping assist (LKA), and door opening warning (DOW).
