Don’t let your engine oil run out, as it could lead to serious consequences!

After using your car for a while, it's time to check the vehicle's fluids, especially the engine oil level. Engine oil is crucial for the efficient operation of various engine components. If the oil level is low or depleted, it will definitely impact your driving performance.

For beginners who are unsure how to check it and don’t want to spend money or time having a mechanic do it, you can actually check the engine oil level yourself quite easily with the following steps:

  • Park the Car on a Level Surface: Wait for about 5 minutes to allow the engine to cool down and the engine oil to flow back into the oil pan. Then, open the car’s hood.
  • Remove the Dipstick: Pull out the dipstick and wipe off any oil residue with a clean cloth. Insert the dipstick back into its tube and wait for about 4-5 seconds.
  • Check the Oil Level: Pull the dipstick out again and observe the oil level on the end of the dipstick.
    • F (Full): The oil level is normal.
    • L (Low): The oil level is below normal, and you should add more engine oil promptly.

It's recommended to check the engine oil level at least once a month to ensure it remains at the normal level. If you notice any unusual color in the oil or find foreign substances such as dust or sediment, you should have a mechanic or specialist examine it to determine the necessary corrective actions.
