Leapmotor, a Chinese electric vehicle (EV) brand, has unveiled the Leapmotor C10, an electric SUV, and announced its specifications. This model is poised for international sales and is expected to launch in Thailand this year as one of its latest offerings.

Leapmotor

Founded in 2015, Leapmotor introduced its first EV, the S01, in 2018, which was available for sale in China but has since been discontinued. Currently, Leapmotor's product lineup consists of three models: the C11 (SUV), the C01 (sedan), and the T03 (compact city car). The Leapmotor C10 is the latest addition to its lineup. In the future, Leapmotor aims to produce up to five EV models for markets outside China.

The Leapmotor C10 is a 5-seater electric SUV that emphasizes a sleek and luxurious design. It incorporates aerodynamic features to reduce air resistance, with modern LED strips across the front and rear. The door handles are flush with the body, and the vehicle is equipped with cameras at the front, rear, wheel arches, and 12 LiDAR sensors. Additionally, it features a 5mm wave radar and 12 ultrasonic radars.

Interior of the Leapmotor C10

The cabin is designed to accommodate five passengers. The dashboard includes a digital instrument cluster located behind the large, two-spoke multifunction steering wheel, and a large floating display at the center. The car is powered by a Qualcomm 8295 chip and NVIDIA Orin, supporting OTA (Over-the-Air) updates.

The center console is designed to connect with the front console, resembling a bridge. The upper part only houses cup holders and a smartphone charging pad, while the gear shifter is mounted behind the steering wheel. The lower section of the center console provides extra storage space and features a USB-C port. Leapmotor also highlighted the spacious rear cabin with a generous 1,050 mm of legroom in the second row.

Platform and Powertrain

The Leapmotor C10 is built on the Leap 3.0 architecture. It features a single rear-mounted electric motor producing 231 horsepower. The car is equipped with a 69.9 kWh LFP battery, supplied by CALB, which can achieve a maximum driving range of 530 km on a single charge. The vehicle supports 800V fast charging technology.

Pricing

In China, Leapmotor aims to sell the C10 at a price range of 150,000 – 200,000 yuan, which is approximately 749,000 – 999,000 baht. It remains to be seen whether this new brand will be successful in the competitive Thai market.
