Normally, we inflate regular car tires to around 32-36 PSI (pounds per square inch), but the air pressure for a spare tire is different.

The appropriate air pressure for a spare tire is 60 PSI (pounds per square inch), which is significantly higher than the pressure for regular tires. The reason for this higher pressure is that spare tires gradually lose air over time until they are eventually used, which can sometimes take several years. This is why it's important to inflate spare tires to a higher pressure, so that when they are needed, there will be enough air to use them safely.

Even if the spare tire has never been used, it doesn't mean it will never deteriorate. Therefore, it is recommended to replace the spare tire every 8 years or as specified in the manual to ensure safe driving.
