Driving during the rainy season or in humid weather can easily cause fogged car windows, reducing visibility and increasing the risk of accidents. Today, we’ll share tips on how to prevent and fix fogged car windows.
Causes of Foggy Car Windows

Fogging on car windows occurs due to differences in temperature and humidity. If the fog appears on the inside of the window, it's because the temperature inside the car is warmer than the outside air. If the fog is on the outside of the window, it's because the temperature inside the car is cooler than the air outside.

How to Fix Fogged Car Windows
  1. Adjust the air conditioning temperature inside the cabin: Balance the temperature inside the car with the temperature outside. If fog forms on the outside of the window, lower the air conditioning. If fog forms on the inside, increase the air conditioning.
  2. Adjust air vents away from the windows: Directing air vents toward the windows can cause a temperature difference in that area, leading to fogging.
  3. Lower the windows to equalize the temperature: Lower the windows to allow air circulation and balance the temperature inside and outside the car. However, this might not be suitable during the rainy season as raindrops could enter the car.
  4. Use windshield wipers to clear exterior fog: This method works only for fog on the outside of the windshield. You can use the windshield wiper along with a water spray to clean off dirt and fog from the window.
  5. Activate the car's defogging system: Most cars come with a defogging system. Activate this feature to warm the rear window, which helps eliminate moisture-induced fog. Be sure to turn it off as soon as the fog clears. Never leave it on unnecessarily.
  6. Switch to the fresh air intake mode: The car's air conditioning can be set to fresh air intake mode, which brings outside air into the car. If the windows fog up, use this mode to help adjust the temperature.

These are some methods to prevent and fix fogged car windows. Applying these tips will help improve your visibility and ensure a safer driving experience, as foggy windows can lead to accidents on the road.
