Suzuki has introduced the e Vitara, the company’s first electric SUV for the European market, which will be part of Toyota’s EV lineup set to launch next year.

This debut comes as part of a strategic partnership between Toyota and Suzuki to drive innovation and expand global reach for electric vehicles.

Key Features of the e Vitara, Suzuki’s First Electric SUV

The new Suzuki e Vitara is built on the eVX Concept platform, designed specifically for electric vehicles, resulting from a collaboration between Suzuki, Toyota, and Daihatsu Motor. This model embodies the Emotional Versatile Cruiserconcept, blending modern technology with a sturdy, versatile design.

The HEARTECT-e platform in the e Vitara delivers enhanced agility and supports off-road driving with AWD ALLGRIP-e, an all-wheel-drive technology that improves performance and driving confidence on various terrains.

Dimensions and Performance of the Suzuki e Vitara

The Suzuki e Vitara’s size closely matches that of the Kia EV3, with a length of 4,275 mm, width of 1,800 mm, height of 1,635 mm, and a wheelbase of 2,700 mm, providing a stable and spacious driving experience.

With battery options of 49 kWh and 61 kWh, the e Vitara can cover up to 342 miles, or approximately 550 km, making it suitable for both city and long-distance driving.

Production and Market Availability

Suzuki plans to begin production of the e Vitara at its Gujarat plant in India in spring 2025 and will supply the model to Toyota as well. This electric SUV will be branded under Toyota and launched in various markets, including Europe, India, and Japan, in the summer of 2025.

It’s not yet confirmed if Toyota will make any additional design changes for the branded model, but it’s certain that the e Vitara will join Toyota’s EV lineup, meeting the demand from environmentally-conscious consumers looking for innovative electric vehicles.
