Audi has introduced its latest electric vehicle (EV) prototype at a launch event in Shanghai, China.

The most striking change is the rebranding of Audi’s logo, replacing the iconic four rings with the “AUDI” name, marking a clear commitment to the Chinese market.

In collaboration with SAIC Motors, a leading Chinese automotive manufacturer, Audi unveiled the prototype model known as the AUDI E. This model is the first of three EV models that Audi plans to launch in China by mid-2025. Fermín Soneira, a former executive at Volkswagen with over 25 years of experience, is taking on the role of CEO for this new brand to drive its growth in the Chinese market.

AUDI E Highlights and Advanced Technology

The AUDI E is developed on an advanced digital platform, featuring a four-wheel drive system powered by dual motors, enabling it to accelerate from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in just 3.6 seconds. Additionally, it incorporates an 800V architecture that delivers a maximum driving range of up to 700 kilometers on a full charge (CLTC standard) with a robust 100kWh battery, designed to support long-distance travel efficiently.
