Finding a spider in your car can be a shock or a source of discomfort for many people

Especially for those who are afraid of spiders, or if the spider is a potentially venomous species, it is important to handle the situation safely and effectively. Motorist will show you what to do if you find a spider in your car!

1. Stay calm and don't panic

If you are driving and encounter a spider, do not panic and try to stay calm and find a safe place to park your car. Do not try to catch or get rid of the spider while the car is still moving because it may cause an accident.

2. Park your car in a safe place and turn on the lights in your car

Once you have parked your car, turn on the lights in your car to see where the spider is. If you cannot find the spider immediately, you may need to use a flashlight to help you find it.

3. Use a tool to catch the spider

Once you have found the spider, a safe way is to use a paper or plastic cup to catch the spider and release it outside the car. Try to avoid catching the spider with your bare hands, especially if you are not sure if the spider is venomous.

4. Use a vacuum cleaner or spider spray (if available)

If the spider is in a hard-to-reach place, such as under the seat or in the air vents, you can use a vacuum cleaner with a small nozzle to suck the spider out, or spray it with a spider spray (make sure to choose a spray that is safe for use in cars).

5. Clean the car thoroughly

Spiders tend to live in places where there is dust or debris, so clean the car inside and out, including vacuuming small crevices to remove any spider eggs or spider webs that may be left in the car.

6. Prevent spiders from returning

    • Use herbal or insect repellent products: such as peppermint or eucalyptus essential oils, by putting a few drops on a cotton ball and placing it in the car.
    • Keep the doors and windows closed: This is especially important when parking in areas with tall trees or weeds.
Things you shouldn't do
    • Spraying insecticide in large quantities: Because the chemicals can accumulate and be harmful to your health when inhaled while driving
    • Using violence or hitting spiders: In addition to causing stains in the car, there is also a risk of being bitten.

Finding a spider in your car may seem like a small matter, but if it is not handled properly, it can become a big problem. Staying calm, handling it safely, and cleaning your car thoroughly will help you deal with this problem effectively and prevent it from happening again in the future.
