New Regulation! Speed Limit of 60 km/h in Bangkok (Except for 13 Roads)

Now Enforced! Vehicles in Bangkok must comply with new speed regulations.
Maximum speed of 50 km/h in royal palace zones, maximum speed of 60 km/h on most Bangkok roads, except for 13 exempted routes.

On December 23, 2024, the Royal Gazette published the “Regulation of the Chief Traffic Officer in Bangkok, B.E. 2567,” which includes the following details:
Clause 3 Maximum speed limit of 50 km/h and prohibition of noise in royal palace zones on 10 main roads
- Ratchadamnoen Nai Road
- Na Phra That Road
- Phra Chan Road
- Na Phra Lan Road
- Sanam Chai Road
- Kalayan Maitri Road
- Tai Wang Road
- Maha Rat Road
- Rachini Road
- Setthakan Road
Clause 4 Maximum speed limit of 60 km/h on most roads in Bangkok, except for the following 13 routes where higher speeds are allowed
- Vibhavadi Rangsit Road
- Bang Na-Trat Road
- Srinakarin Road
- Phahonyothin Road
- Ram Inthra Road
- Ratchaphruek Road
- Borommaratchachonnani Road
- Kanlapaphruek Road
- Rom Klao Road
- Suwinthawong Road
- Chaeng Watthana Road
- Rama III Road
- Srinakarin-Rom Klao Road (New Route)
Clause 5 The regulation still applies to vehicles with a minimum speed requirement of 45 km/h.
Clause 6 Previous regulations that conflict with this one are repealed, except for certain provisions (e.g., regulations from 2018 and 2021, which remain in effect).
Enforcement Date
This law takes effect on December 24, 2024.
