Don’t Risk It! No Escape — Pay Your Toll! Or Face Fines Up to 10 Times Higher!

On January 1, 2025, the Expressway Authority of Thailand (EXAT) began imposing fines on individuals who evade or make incomplete expressway toll payments. The measures are as follows:

  1. If expressway tolls are evaded or partially paid, the Expressway Authority of Thailand (EXAT) will issue a notification requesting payment of the toll along with proof of payment. Failure to comply within the specified timeframe will result in a formal violation notice being issued within 30 days after the deadline. In such cases, you will be required to pay the toll along with an administrative fine, which can be as high as 10 times the toll amount (but not exceeding 2,000 baht per violation) as stipulated by law. You may provide an explanation and make the payment through the channels specified in the notification issued by EXAT.
  2. If no action is taken within the specified period outlined in Section 1, the Expressway Authority of Thailand (EXAT) will issue an administrative fine order, with a maximum penalty of up to 10 times the toll amount (not exceeding 2,000 baht per violation). You can pay the toll along with the administrative fine through the channels specified in the notification letter or at the One Stop Service Center on the 1st Floor of the Expressway Administration Center Building, EXAT Headquarters, located at 111 Rim Khlong Bang Kapi Road, Bang Kapi Subdistrict, Huai Khwang District, Bangkok 10310. The center is open on business days from 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM. For more information, please call 02-558-9800 ext. 10700 to 10709.

Furthermore, if the allegation is denied or the toll and administrative fine are not paid within the specified timeframe, the Expressway Authority of Thailand (EXAT) will proceed with legal action by submitting the case to the Public Prosecutor for further prosecution in court.

Therefore, all drivers are advised to prepare sufficient cash or top up their Easy Pass balance in advance for every expressway trip to avoid any potential complications later.
