5 Blind Spots to Watch Out for While Driving

A Pillar

The A Pillar is the front pillar on both sides of your car that supports the windshield. While it helps keep the car structure strong, it also creates a blind spot when you’re turning or making a U-turn. This can block your view of pedestrians or other cars. To avoid accidents, adjust your seat properly and quickly glance over your shoulder to check for any obstacles before making a turn.

Side Mirrors

Side mirrors help you see cars behind you, but they have blind spots too. If a car moves into the space just beside you, especially a motorcycle, it might disappear from your mirror’s view. The solution? Always double-check by looking directly at the road before changing lanes or turning to make sure it’s clear.

Rearview Mirror

Following Large Vehicles

If your car is small or low, the driver of the large vehicle might not even see you. To reduce risk, maintain a safe distance of about two car lengths and be cautious when overtaking.

Unfamiliar Roads

Driving on unfamiliar roads with sharp curves or hills can create dangerous blind spots. Never overtake on a curve, especially on two-lane roads where cars are coming from the opposite direction. Follow speed limits, watch road signs, and stay alert at all times. It’s best to study your route in advance if you’re going somewhere new.
