The Aion UT, a new electric hatchback and a competitor to the BYD Seagull and Wuling Bing, is set to open for pre-orders in January 2025.
The starting price is approximately 100,000 yuan (around 470,000 baht), with official sales beginning in February 2025.
Aion UT Debuts at the Guangzhou Auto Show
The Aion UT was unveiled for the first time at the Guangzhou Auto Show last year. Prior to this, some details were released by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), including the registration of three variants along with partial images and specifications.
Recent information from MIIT reveals that the Aion UT will be equipped with different types of electric motors, all delivering the same output of 100 kW. The latest motor code released is TZ180XS134, while the motor code shared in November was TZ160XYD3A02.
Specifications and Key Features of the Aion UT
The Aion UT measures 4,270 x 1,850 x 1,575 mm (length x width x height), with a wheelbase of 2,750 mm. The vehicle weighs between 1,510 and 1,540 kg and offers a choice of 16-inch or 17-inch wheels.
The vehicle uses a lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery, though detailed information about the battery is still limited. However, a previously released schematic indicated a maximum range of 600 km and a top speed of 150 km/h.
A Strong Competitor
If the Aion UT achieves the 600 km range as suggested, it will boast the longest range in its class. This surpasses competitors like the BYD Seagull, which has a maximum range of 405 km, and the Wuling Bing, which offers 410 km. Stay tuned for more details and the official launch in January.
