MG4 ELECTRIC, the first electric vehicle (EV) model from MG produced in Thailand, has received the “Made in Thailand (MiT)” certification. This recognition grants it special privileges in procurement processes, boosts export potential, and expands its presence in international markets.
The MiT certification, issued by the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI), aims to enhance the competitiveness of Thai-made products both domestically and internationally. Certified products receive special privileges in government procurement processes, creating more market opportunities while supporting the country's development of clean energy transportation.
A Standard That Builds Confidence in Thai Products
SAIC Motor-CP Co., Ltd., and MG Sales (Thailand) Co., Ltd., the manufacturer and distributor of MG vehicles in Thailand, stated that the MiT certification enhances the credibility of their products and signifies quality, building trust with partners and consumers.
"MG4 ELECTRIC marks a significant milestone in the Thai automotive industry by becoming the first EV model to receive MiT certification, setting a new standard in the market."
Opportunities for Global Competition
In international markets, the MiT certification supports competitiveness by serving as a reference document for exports, enabling access to markets prioritizing Thai-made products.
Global Recognition and Outstanding Achievements
Zhao Feng, Managing Director of SAIC Motor-CP Co., Ltd., emphasized the company’s commitment to advancing Thailand’s EV industry to global standards.
"MG4 ELECTRIC is MG’s first global model, earning international awards for its distinctive driving experience, sleek design, affordability, and comprehensive safety features. It also won the EV OF THE YEAR award for 2023 from the Thai Automotive Journalists Association."
