While Mazda Japan recently announced the establishment of a battery factory for new electric vehicles in collaboration with Panasonic

On the other hand, the European market has unveiled the Mazda 6e at the 2025 Brussels Motor Show as a mid-size Fastback-Sedan that uses electric power. It is a new model that continues the success of the Mazda 6, which has been sold in the European market since 2002.

The Mazda 6e is a joint development between Mazda and Changan Automobile Co., Ltd., a collaboration that has been going on for more than 20 years. It still maintains the Kodo design and Mazda's unique driving performance, along with electric-powered technology and an intelligent cabin that is unique to Changan.

The exterior of the Mazda 6e is designed to be similar to a coupe, with four frameless doors, which Mazda says can perfectly combine the charm of a car with the identity of an electric car. The brake system and suspension have also been tuned to respond to the driver as one according to the Jinba Ittai principle.

The cabin is also equipped with a 14.6-inch touchscreen and a 10.2-inch driving information display with a virtual Head-up Display system, while the rear luggage compartment has a capacity of 330 liters with a 70-liter storage space under the front hood.

The Mazda 6e has 2 battery sizes to choose from, starting with a 68.8 kWh battery, driving range 483 km, supporting fast charging (DC) with a maximum power of 200kW, charging time from 10-80% in 22 minutes. As for the 80 kWh battery model, the driving range is extended to 555 km, fast charging from 10-80% in 45 minutes. Both models have a maximum torque of 320 Newton-meters and are both rear-wheel drive systems.

After the public unveiling at the Brussels Motor Show 2025, the Mazda 6e will be gradually sold in various countries from the second half of 2025 onwards.
