We often see that some people keep personal lucky charms or auspicious items in their cars for peace of mind during every journey. But did you know that certain items are considered unlucky and should not be kept in your car?

Of course, everyone has different beliefs, and there is no right or wrong in having differing views. Today, Motorist has gathered some common beliefs about unlucky items that should not be kept in your car. Please use your own discretion when reading this.

Dried flower garlands:

Many people hang fresh flower garlands on the rearview mirror or dashboard to pay respects to or worship the sacred spirit of the car. However, if left to dry and wither, they may be considered unlucky. Therefore, it's recommended to replace the garlands regularly for both peace of mind and to keep the car clean.

A stopped clock:

Not sure if anyone keeps a clock in their car, but if you do, make sure it's still working. A stopped clock symbolizes the end of life, so it’s considered bad luck to carry or keep one in the car.

Items of the deceased:

Some people may keep belongings of someone who has passed away as a memento or emotional comfort. However, it is recommended to store these items at home instead. There’s a belief that keeping the possessions of the deceased in the car may cause their spirits to be restless, which could lead to feelings of unease or anxiety for the car owner.

Cracked mirrors:

It's unlikely that anyone would carry a cracked mirror, but it’s important to check if any of the car’s mirrors have cracks. There’s a belief that cracked mirrors symbolize broken relationships and may lead to frequent arguments or conflicts with those around you. Therefore, if you notice any cracks in your car’s mirrors, it’s best to replace them as soon as possible.

Coins scattered around:

For those who don’t use M-Pass or M-Flow and still pay toll fees in cash, you might keep coins in your car. However, if the coins are scattered all over the place and not kept neatly, there’s a belief that this disorganization can cause you to struggle with saving money.

These are merely beliefs, and you don’t have to believe them 100%. It's better to focus on following traffic rules and driving carefully. Doing so can significantly reduce the chances of accidents on the road.
